This is a pretty awesome album from a pretty awesome guy. If you haven’t seen videos of how he creates music I recommend looking them up somewhere. Benn Jordan is an idm musician operating under many pseudonyms. Since 1999 his most widely distributed and eclectic music has been released under the name of The Flashbulb, whose songs mostly fall under the idm/breakcore genre. Other names Benn operates under are Benn Jordan, Q-Bit, Flexe, Dr. Lefty, Acidwolf, Human Action Network, DJ ASCII, Lucid32, Dysrhythmia, chr15tpunch3r, Sixty Six Ex, rapemachine and rnd16.

LYNX, an innovative singer songwriter and producer originally from Colorado and now the Bay Area has been playing music and performing since the age of 7. Now 25, she has been breaking new ground on both the live and electronic music scenes playing events all over the world icluding the US, Asia, Europe and Canada. LYNX’s Music combines elements of electronica, folk, indie pop and hip hop. Her lyrics are catchy and thought provoking while her beats keep things dancy and deep. She is just as at home playing her banjo and singing in a living room as she is playing some of the biggest electronic music festivals around.

New album out by Morcheeba. If you haven’t heard of them yet, be sure to listen to some of their other albums. Morcheeba is a British band that mixes influences from rock, trip hop, rhythm and blues and pop. The word “morcheeba” means “the way of marijuana” (“Mor” – the middle of the way & “Cheeba” – informal name of marijuana). Formed in 1995, they consisted of Paul Godfrey (dj), Ross Godfrey on guitar and keyboards with Skye Edwards as the primary vocalist fronting the band. While churning up interest through an underground presence mostly in London, the band finally broke through when featured on the Ultra-Chilled series.

Eh, pretty good album, and Pitchfork had good things to say about it. The initial meeting between Derek Miller and Alexis Krauss of Sleigh Bells sounds almost like a scene out of a movie: He was working at a Brooklyn, NY restaurant during the summer of 2008; she, a fifth grade public school teacher, was one of his customers and by chance they started talking about music. A mere week later they were recording together and thus, Sleigh Bells were formed. Last.fm classified this as Hip-Hop, but I don’t see it.

Here is some electronic music to throw into the mix. Not my favorite, but my girlfriend likes them and recommended I put his new album up. Pretty good music, but I prefer more of a ’65 Days of Static’ feel. Dosh grew up in the Twin Cities. At a young age he also took piano lessons and then discovered FM radio in the early ’80s. Dosh began drumming at age 15. By the time he left home for Simon’s Rock College at age 16, he had decided music would likely be his profession, however, he subsequently got a degree in creative writing. Throughout the ’90s, he played with a number of bands on the East Coast.

It is pretty hard to top Fight with Tools, so I will let you all decide how this album compares. Flobots are an alternative rap/rock band from Denver, CO. They consist of Jonny 5 (vocals), Brer Rabbit (vocals), Mackenzie Roberts (viola/vocals), Jessie Walker (bass), Andy Guerrero (guitar) and Kenny Ortiz (drums). The band became popular in 2008 when their singles “Handlebars” and “Rise” became hits on American alternative rock radio. When a pair of quick-witted emcees joins forces with a battle-hardened, groove-fusing rhythm section, a classically trained violist and trumpet player, the result is a sound that explores and expands the frontiers of live hip-hop.

These guys have a new album out called One Life Stand, so if you like this album look for their new album. Hot Chip is an electrorock band which formed in London, England, United Kingdom in 2000. It consists of Alexis Taylor (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Joe Goddard (vocals, synths, percussion), Al Doyle (guitar, vocals), Owen Clarke (synths, guitar) and Felix Martin (percussion). The combination of Taylor’s ethereal, high-pitched vocals with Goddard’s warm, low pitch and the band’s blip-blop electronics creates a dreamy sound. The band is best known for the hit singles “Over And Over” (2006) and “Ready For The Floor” (2008).

Pantha du Prince, also known as Hendrik Weber, is a minimal artist signed to Rough Trade Records. His music is often characterised by a hypnotic, intricate combination of melodic chimes and dark, heavy techno beats, but does not confine itself to a single sound or strain of minimal techno. Arrangements are lush and textural, energising yet melancholy; a plethora of sounds and ideas unified by a consistent underlying tech-house beat. Dreaming music. Also known as Panthel and glühen 4.

Besides Xploding Plastix
, I haven’t really added anything in this realm before. This is another album from the 90s, but one that if you weren’t into trip-hop at the time, you probably never came across. Sometime back in the mid-90s a fresh faced Brazilian ex-pat living in the UK decided he was going to put down his harmonica, pick up a sampler, and name himself after a Stephen King novel. The resulting album, Cujo‘s Adventures in Foam (released on Ninebar records, later reissued on Ninja Tune) signalled Amon Tobin’s entry into the world of music. Immediately upon hearing this record, the powers that be at Ninja Tune signed him up to record as Amon Tobin, and he quickly went to work on his debut Bricolage.
