My artist finding script is almost complete. I am looking into getting a VPS though so it doesn’t come to a crawl when multiple people are using it. It does work though, which is just awesome.
Right now this site is just a music blog, but I do plan on extending it to make it a community where people can share and post music themselves. I first need to dive into the code of WordPress MU (right now only running WordPress) so I can get a feel on how to use some extensions of the MU features. I do want to make this happen, and I want it to happen for the sake of music. I have a job too, which makes finding the time to make this happen a little difficult with the projects I already have on my plate.
This is always hard to fill out no matter what site the information is for. I guess I should start by saying what I hope this site can evolve into.
- Hassle free way to listen to music
- Bring new music into the limelight
- User friendly social site for music lovers
- Broaden everyone’s taste a little bit (myself included)
I will be doing all of the programming and backend work myself, so that should help with my crazy vision. It might be a little hard find the time to transform this pet project overnight, so please be patient. Hopefully I will get a couple writers once I establish a workflow. Right now I am manually exporting playlists because I couldn’t get the grooveshark plugin working, and even once it is up and running I want to speed up the process of publishing posts.
