Tegan and Sara – So Jealous
I know most of you that are into indie probably have already heard of them, as they have been on everything from the show Veronica Mars to the movie Sweet November. This is post is for those who have heard them, liked them, and just never knew their name. Tegan Quin and Sara Quin (born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on September 19, 1980) are identical twins and Canadian singer-songwriters, performing as Tegan and Sara. They initially played as Plunk in 1995, and lacked a drummer and bass player. In 1997, they used their school’s recording studio to record two demo albums: “Who’s in Your Band?” and “Play Day”. In 1998, they made an early breakthrough by winning Garage Warz Battle of the Bands, a local music competition in Calgary.

I have been hearing alot of the new Tegan and Sara song called “Hell”. I think it is great that young artists like Tegan and Sara are talked about in blogs and different sites because unless you are already a successful artist it is going to get harder and harder for artists like this to be heard. It will get even harder now that CDs are going out and downloading is coming in for new artists to get some kind of following.
